What to see and do at Jubilee Woods

The wood, which is designated a site of special scientific interest, consists of a mixture of mature beech, sycamore and larch with an area of damp alder wood near its northern boundary.  There are some granite outcrops within the wood and open public access throughout. Both this wood and the adjacent Outwoods are renowned for the carpets of bluebells to be found in spring and summer.

Jubilee Wood comprises ten hectares of mixed woodland, and forms one section of rocky outcrops and was presented to us in 1977 to commemorate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.
