‘Woodland Sculpture Exhibition’ is transforming part of Beacon Hill Country Park through sculptures into a wonderland of nature that visitors’ “can’t normally see beneath their feet”– focusing on fungi, mycelium and roots!
Across the month, artists Nita Rao and Lisa Denham will develop site-specific sculptures. You can expect to see mushrooms made from willow, felted fungi, ‘tree people’ and plenty more as the display continues to grow!
Much of the artwork has been developed by the artists’ residency at Beacon Hill and has also been guided by work with local groups and other artists. People interested can even have their hand in adding to the display through free creative workshops as the weeks go on. Find more about the workshops on the ArtSpace Loughborough website.
It’s the perfect chance for families, residents and visitors to explore the rich biodiversity of Beacon Hill and the world around us.
