Bagworth Heath Woods has a rich history, originally the location of Desford Colliery Site from 1902-1984 – the last to be opened in the North-west Leicestershire Coalfield. Work from from 1990’s onwards helped Bagworth Heath make the transformation to a site full of rich woodland, heathland lakes and vast wildlife we see today.
